Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel made from Hyaluronic Acid, which is a naturally occurring substance found in the body. They can be used to add volume, definition and shape in areas such as the lips, cheeks and jawline, or to fill in lines such as the Nasolabial Folds (smile lines) and Marionette lines mouth to chin lines). They can also be used to reduce the appearance of dark under eye circles, and to perform a Liquid Rhinoplasty-to smooth out the humps in the nose or to provide a tip lift to droopier noses. Dermal fillers provide long-lasting results, but they are not permanent.

Hyaluronic Acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in most living organisms. It binds to water, holding up to 1000 times its weight, and acts like a lubricant/shock absorber to the joints in our body. It transports nutrients, regulates water balance and maintains skin elasticity. Used as Dermal Fillers, it creates a plumping, hydrated effect and sits naturally under the skin. Since Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance, it is extremely rare that it should cause an allergic reaction. Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers are also fully reversible with a dissolving product called Hyaluronadaise.

The longevity of Dermal Filler depends on a number of factors, for example the viscosity of the filler (thicker fillers are used to treat deeper areas like the cheeks and jawline). Other factors include a person’s water intake, the amount of exercise they take and how quickly their body metabolises filler. As a general guide, lip filler lasts between 6-12 months, and facial filler lasts between 12-18 months. Top ups are advised around the 6-12 month mark accordingly.

The amount of Dermal Filler needed depends on your desired results, and how the area looks before it is treated. For example, 1ml of lip filler will sit differently on someone with a smaller, narrower smile, than someone with a fuller, wider smile. Different results are achieved with different amounts respectively, however we will complete a thorough consultation at the time of your appointment, so that we can discuss exactly what results you would like to achieve, and how much product you’ll need. You may find it helpful to look through examples of our before and after pictures to find a similar result to what you are trying to achieve.

For best results, it is recommended to avoid blood thinning medication such as ibuprofen and aspirin, Vitamin E and Omega supplements, as well as alcohol for 48 hours prior to your appointment, as taking these will increase the risk of bruising and swelling.

You will be given a full aftercare advice sheet to take away with you after your treatment which will explain all the ‘dos and dont’s’, along with a little after-care kit. Some examples of what you should do is keep the area clean, apply ice to reduce swelling, and apply Arnica Gel to reduce bruising. Some examples of what not to do are drink alcohol for 48 hours, and apply heavy make up to the treated area.

Dermal fillers are suitable for most people, however there are certain situations where they are not recommended. Dermal fillers aren’t recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those with a skin infections near the area they would like enhancing. They are also unsuitable to those who have known allergies or sensitivities to certain products like Lidocaine and other local anaesthetics. If you are taking certain medication which affects blood clotting such as Aspirin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel, Omega-3 oils, please feel free to get in touch to discuss your suitability for your desired Dermal Filler treatment. Please note that you must be 18 years old for Dermal Filler treatment.

Dermal Filler is injected with a very fine needle, and is often described as a light pressure or a pinching feeling. A topical numbing cream is applied to the area beforehand, as well as the Dermal Filler itself containing a local anaesthetic which numbs the area as we inject. This all helps to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Certain areas of the face can be slightly more sensitive to treat, but generally it is a comfortable procedure, with the results being more than worth it!

Mild swelling and/or bruising are the most common side-effects-these are totally normal and will start to subside very quickly. You will be given a copy of our thorough after-care advice which will explain how to speed the healing process up, along with a little after pack which includes a pot of Arnica Gel to reduce any potential bruising. If you are a sufferer of cold sores, there is some evidence to show that injections in the lips may trigger a new cold sore.

Botulinum Toxin A is a liquid which can be safely injected into a muscle. When injected, it blocks the muscles nerve impulses, resulting in temporary relaxation. This means that the muscle doesn’t receive any messages to contract, so it cannot form wrinkles. The result is a much smoother and softer appearance of fine lines, and the prevention of creating any new, deeper lines.

The initial effects of Botox can be seen generally between 2 to 14 days after treatment. The effects then can last up to 6 months but average around 3 to 4 months. We advise a top up between 4 to 6 months to maintain excellent anti-ageing results, however we do offer a free top up after two weeks of the initial treatment for anti wrinkle areas on the face.

Botox is a very comfortable procedure as we inject with a very fine needle, therefore topical anaesthesia is not necessary. The treatment is also very quick, taking only minutes, with minimal downtime- you are able to drive and go to work straight from your appointment.

Not at all, we administer a specific amount of Botox to paralyse the muscle and smooth out dynamic wrinkles, but you will still have your range of facial expression. Should you want to have a more effective result, this can be thoroughly discussed at consultation and is bespoke to each clients desired results.

Botox is not suitable for people with infections at the proposed injection site, people who have previously had an allergic reaction to Botox, or for those with muscle problems and chronic diseases affecting the muscles, such as Eaton Lambert Syndrome. Botox is also not suitable for people under the age of 18 and for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Botox should be used to cautiously in people who are taking blood thinning medication such as Aspirin, Warfarin and other anti-inflammatory medicines. This also includes herbal remedies such as St John’s Wort and Vitamin E supplements. It should also be used cautiously in people with excessive weakness or wasting of the muscles, such as people with history of strokes or Bells Palsy, and people with chronic breathing difficulties. If any of the above apply to you please let us know at consultation or send us a message on our contact forms and we will be happy to advise further.

Fat-dissolving injections

Fat dissolving injections such as Aqualyx, are a fantastic clinically proven injectable solution which break down fat cells on contact, allowing them to be dissolved and passed through the body as waste.

The injections work by bursting the membranes (cell walls) of fat cells, which allows the fatty content to be released into the lymph circulation system and metabolised by the liver. This means that the fatty content will be passed through the body naturally as waste.

Results are dependent on the client, and the type and stubbornness of the fat we are targeting- this will be discussed in detail at consultation. Results can be seen after one session in some cases, however we generally recommend three sessions in one area for fantastic results. This is why we offer the third session completely free in one area for our clients.

Once the fat cells that have been injected into have burst and been dissolved, then they cannot come back. In time with weight gain the body can regenerate new fat cells, however results can be maintained with healthy diet and regular exercise, and the fat cells we dissolved cannot come back.

You cannot have filler in the same treated area on the same day, for example fat dissolve under the jawline and jawline filler, however you can have fillers in other areas of the face, which won’t affect the fat dissolve treatment.

There may be a small amount of swelling at this treatment site for a few days, which can be reduced by using ice packs on the area. The area may feel tender for a short while afterwards, however you are okay to drive and carry on as normal after the treatment.

Unlike Aqualyx, there is minimal swelling associated with the use of DesoFace fat dissolving injections.

There is minimal pain or discomfort when using DesoFace, unlike other fat dissolvers such as Aqualyx.

PDO threads

PDO threads are small threads made of Polydioxanone, which is a clinically proven material used in surgical sutures. They are very fine, clear and cannot be seen once they are inserted under the skin. They provide a lifting and tightening effect, and cause micro tears underneath the skin which in turn promotes natural collagen production, resulting in a long-lasting tightening effect.

You will notice an immediate result after your PDO thread treatment, and optimal results will show between 2 to 6 months as the skins natural collagen production is stimulated. Threads will dissolve over six months but the result will last on average between a fantastic 2 to 3 years!

The downtime is very minimal, with potential mild swelling and/or bruising at the insertion site. You should be able to return to work straight away without any discomfort.

PDO threads are a comfortable treatment, with one small opening with a needle point needed per thread. They’re not painful and take a very short amount of time to insert, for fabulous results!

Dermaplaning is a very safe procedure used for exfoliating, by removing the dead layer of the top of the skin (the epidermis), and the fine vellus hair. We use a special sterile surgical instrument, and the treatment is extremely safe when performed by a professionally trained technician. We double cleanse and steam the skin to ensure a clean sterile base, then the skin is held taught, and the tool is used at a 45° angle to gently scrape off the dead skin cells. The result is beautifully smooth and soft radiant skin, free from dull dead skin cells and peach fuzz.

No, it is physiologically impossible for vellus hair to grow back any quicker, darker or thicker than it was previously. Terminal hair such as the hair on your top lip, arms and legs is capable of growing back thicker once removed via shaving etc but the fine hair on your face (vellus hair) cannot be changed once removed via dermaplane.

Dermaplaning is recommended to be repeated every four weeks. You should always leave enough time between treatments to allow the skin to produce a new dead top layer, to ensure that we are not dermaplaning any fresh healthy skin away. It takes around three weeks for the skin to generate this dead layer of the epidermis, which is why we recommend waiting four weeks between treatments.

Yes! Dermaplaning is fantastic when combined with an LED light therapy treatment, as removing the dead layer your skin helps to absorb the LED light straight into the dermis, which will maximise the benefits of your LED light therapy treatment. It will also maximise the benefits of any face masks and serums you choose to add on at your facial treatment as it allows full absorption straight into the dermis without being caught by the dead layer of skin on top.

Your skin may feel a little tender after a dermaplane treatment and may appear a little red. This doesn’t happen to everyone, but depending on skin sensitivity, a little redness may appear. Any redness caused will disappear in 1 to 2 hours. We also recommend to abstain from using any sunbeds or exposing the skin to UV rays for the next 3 to 4 days minimum, as the dead layer of skin is our skin’s defence mechanism against UV rays, so removing that makes the skin much more liable to sunburn and sun damage. For this reason, we apply an SPF after your treatment, but please be aware that you should be using a daily SPF after dermaplane for extra protection in the week after treatment.

LED light therapy

LED light therapy is a powerful skincare treatment which uses a mask to deliver strong waves of LED light in 10 minute sessions. These light waves are not harmful like UV rays; they safely target the deep layers of the skin (deeper than any skincare can reach) to deliver a range of skincare benefits, from destroying acne bacteria found in the dermis, to stimulating collagen production to deliver powerful anti ageing tightening results. LED light can also be used to combat hyperpigmentation and age spots, decrease blemishes, rosacea and reduce inflammation. It is a heat free, non-invasive treatment with no downtime. It’s also a fantastic addition to your dermaplane treatment, as dermaplaning will remove any dead layers of skin which may inhibit maximum LED light absorption in the lower dermis levels of the skin.

Not at all, the LED lights are not warm or uncomfortable, and you can enjoy them as a relaxing addition to your facial with us.

There is lots of evidence which clinically supports LED light therapy in reducing mild to moderate acne, as the blue LED light setting targets acne bacteria in the dermis. Alongside a deep double cleanse, ozone steam, our fabulous face masks, facial massage and luxurious serums, you can be confident in a reduction of acne and a smoother clearer appearance to your skin. We recommend a course of 6 to 8 sessions of LED light therapy for mild to moderate acne, which comes with the double deep cleanse, ozone steam, pink clay face mask, ice globe massage, rose quartz rolling, powerful facial serums and finishing sprays, for just £20 a session when bought in a 6-8 package.

There are absolutely no side-effects with LED light therapy. LED is used in medical procedures due to its brilliant results, and there is no downtime, redness, swelling or skin irritation, just absolutely fantastic results.

Profhilo is made from Hyaluronic Acid, as are Dermal Fillers, however the purified form of Hyaluronic Acid in Profhilo isn’t crosslinked, which means it holds far less structure under the skin. This means that Profhilo spreads slightly at the points of injection and sits flat under the skin, providing all over hydration and plumpness. As opposed to Dermal Fillers which hold a much firmer structure at the point of injection, so that they can be used to add shape and definition.

Profhilo is injected superficially (close to the surface of the skin) with a very fine needle, and is so quick and comfortable that no numbing cream is required! The treatment itself only takes a few minutes from start to finish, with most clients describing it as a light scratch feeling on entry, but no pain or discomfort.

The effects of Profhilo last around six months on average, but vary from person to person. Most find that the amazing results achieved with Profhilo will save the costs on expensive skincare, facials and other skin firming treatments as it really is the gold star in anti-ageing treatments!

vitamin b12 injections

The injection feels like a little scratch on entry as per a normal vaccination type injection. It is over in seconds and doesn’t need to be numbed, so its a very comfortable treatment with no downtime at all.

We recommend Vitamin B12 injections every 4-6 weeks. Please make us aware if you have a diagnosed B12 deficiency, if you are receiving B12 injections on the NHS or whether you have blood tests coming up in the next few weeks.

B12 injections are not weight loss injections, however they have been proven to increase metabolism and energy levels which can be good for weight loss. However B12 injections alone will not cause weight loss.

You must be 18 to have Vitamin B12 injections with us. If you are younger and suspect a B12 deficiency, or are suffering with any of the above symptoms, please contact your GP.

Micro-needling can feel very slightly uncomfortable as the pen passes across your skin, however it is totally bearable, lasts only a few minutes and the results are fabulous! Your skin can feel a bit tender for the rest of the day but there is no downtime and your skin will start healing straight away.

Monthly sessions are recommended for maximum results but you will see fantastic results in 4-6 weeks after the first session.

Before your Microneedling appointment, you should avoid sunbeds, unprotected sun exposure, laser treatments, waxing, depilatory creams and electrolysis for at least a week. You should also avoid shaving the face and applying skincare containing Retinol in the last few days prior to your appointment, to avoid skin irritation. Try to arrive with clean, make up free skin if possible, and avoid anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin and Warfarin for 48 hours beforehand. If you are taking ant prescribed anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medication, please kindly let us know at the time of booking.

After your appointment you should avoid ‘active’ skincare such as Retinol and Vitamin C serums, AHAs and BHAs for 2-3 days minimum as they could cause extra skin irritation, then reintroduce them slowly. Avoid tanning, sun-beds, saunas, swimming and exercise for 48 hours. Avoid derma planes, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, dermal filler, botox and anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen for the next 2 weeks.

Avoid wearing make up and SPF for the next 24 hours minimum, and be mindful of bacteria in on old facemasks/make up brushes etc. Microneedling creates tiny needle sized openings in the skin, so skin needs to be kept clean and bacteria free whilst they close up to avoid infection. After the initial 24 hours, we recommend wearing a daily chemical free SPF 30+ for the next two weeks.

Microdermabrasion is suitable for all skin types. Microdermabrasion is not suitable for clients who have taken Roaccatane in the last 6 months or who have any active skin disorder such as rashes/active acne.

Microdermabrasion is a pain free treatment. Your face may appear slightly redder in the first 24 hours following your treatment however you should not experience any pain.

You should not have any waxing, laser treatments or excessive sun exposure in the week leading up to your Microdermabrasion treatment.

chemical peels

You may not be suitable for a chemical peel treatment if you have any of the following: any active skin condition, sun burn, cut or broken skin, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you have had Roaccutane in the last 6 months.

Your skin will be cleansed to remove any surface oils to allow the peel to penetrate the skin evenly. A tingling, slight burning or hot sensation is normal. Peels remain on the skin for between 5 and 10 minutes and the peel will be monitored closely by our Advanced Practitioner.

As part of your treatment SPF will be applied to the treated area before you leave the clinic. You will need to wear an SPF of 50 for a week following your treatment. Avoid wearing makeup on the day and follow a very gentle cleansing routine. Do not use products containing active ingredients such as Retinol.
